Writing Accountability Coaching - Six sessions

$600.00

As the author of three books and many articles, I know that writing is often a lonely, challenging practice. It’s honestly the hardest thing I’ve done beyond giving birth! Just like having a doula during labor who reminds you to breathe, a writing accountability coach is part cheerleader, part counselor, and part practical mentor.

For this process, you bring a project (or linked group of projects, such as a series of related articles) that you want to complete. We meet once a month for 45-minutes. Through my years of somatic graining, we begin each session with some breathing and grounding practices, and then check in with what you’re noticing. I find this brings up more useful information than diving in and letting anxiety do all the talking!

From there, you’ll have a chance to reflect on how you’re progressing, express doubts or questions, establish goals for the next month, and discuss barriers and incentives.

I take notes and provide you with an ongoing document to track your goals—from completing a section to cleaning your desk, and from finally scheduling a phone interview with a subject to spending time at a bookstore doing research. Between sessions, I’ll send reminders and encouragements .

Pricing is for 6 sessions over 6 months and includes an initial free meeting where I learn about you, your project, and your goals. If you’d like to sign up for more sessions, a small discount is available; just reach out in email. And as always, I welcome conversation about other pricing arrangements.

If your’e an academic, you may be able to get this paid for through development funds, which is exactly what one of my clients is doing as I help her turn her dissertation into a book that already has publishers asking when it will be done!
